My officemate and I have similar tastes in clothing. We also share a favorite clothing store. Consequently, we have several similar clothing pieces (differing only in color) and several identical pieces. Through luck and periodic emails, we have avoided fashion crises…until this day.

So, I did a little bit of research into my photo archives and discovered that this is not the first time something like this has happened.

It’s terrible. I know it’s terrible. This is me with my best friend since kindergarten, when we were in the 8th grade. She’s wearing a Pepsi watch and I’m wearing a Coke watch. Obviously a very awkard phase for us me. The sad thing is, we clearly dressed alike on purpose. I didn’t even wear glasses then. I borrowed those Sally Jesse’s from herto complete my lovely ensemble. All Matt could say was, “Wow.” Actually, he just kept repeating “wow” with a slightly horrified confused look on his face.

OMG, that is awesome. I think the fact you didn’t wear glasses is my favorite part.

Sally Jesse Rafael? This ties into college roommates. My first roommate was awesome but he dropped out to be an Alaska fisherman. His replacement was the worst. He was madly in love with Sally Jesse Rafael. That is when I knew we could never get along.
Love the pic!

Ms. Mollie- Borrowing glasses most definitely solidified my place in dorkdom.
Billy- How could anyone possibly be in love with Sally (besides her family members, assuming her family isn’t like the families she featured on her show)?. Loving her might even be weirder than trying to look like her.

All I can say is WOW.

OMG! Those glasses! Why they are JUST like my best good friend Julie’s!

Jenefur- Double wow.
Angela- I would give them to her as a spare pair, if only they were mine to give.

One question: is Chrissy single?
January 8, 2008 at 6:05 pm
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Schlemeel, schlemazel, hasenfeffer incorporated.
We’re gonna do it!

George- No, Chrissy is married (with children.) Must share this inquiry with Chrissy though as a nice self-esteem booster!
Wilson- Man, I wish I had an “L” on my (present-day) sweater for Laverne. (Would stand for loser if on junior high sweater.)
“Hasenfeffer”? I never knew.

*sighs* all the good ones are married…..
such is life…:)

Wilson- Good eye (for the bracelets)! I think we’re also wearing matching earrings (that we made ourselves.)
George- She is the best.

Big bangs: check
Catholic school girl skirt: check
Lumpy sweater: check
Birth control glasses: check
It’s an outfit I remember well. I miss the 80s. Before your husband says, “wow” again… this outfit will be back en vogue within the next 6 months. Been to the mall lately?

Black coffee- Perm: check
Matt- There’s a reason I didn’t show you certain albums until after we got married.
Pammy- I don’t miss the amount of time it took to get those bangs that high….oh, the hairsprary…and the turquoise Conair curling iron. I even had a cordless curling iron that ran off of a butane cartridge. Scary.

Catholic school girl skirt = good. Lumpy sweater and humongous glasses = not great.

I’m thinking 80s hairspray is single-handedly to blame for any ozone problem.

haha! The glasses, are they functional or just for fun
However, the skirts in the first picture are great. Very cute.

The glasses in the recent picture are functional (for reading), but the glasses from the older picture were borrowed from my friend to enhance the twin look for which we strived.
